Detect the presence of bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites in a rodent colony is essential to the maintenance and health of the colony. Many infectious agents are difficult to detect by methods such as serology, histopathology and culture methods. At ZingyGen we have developed highly sensitive quantitative qPCR assays for common infectious agents that are found in research animal facilities. The method utilizes an internal control for all samples from DNA/RNA extraction through the final assay to ensure highly reproducible and accurate results for all assays performed.
This technology can also be used to monitor the health of immunodeficient rodents that would not be detected by serological methods.
